City Year unites young people from all backgrounds between the ages of 17 and 24 for a year of full time service, giving them the skills and opportunities to change the world. As tutors, mentors and role models, these diverse young leaders make a difference in the lives of children and transform schools and neighborhoods across the United States and in South Africa. Since 2005 , City Year Louisiana has served more than 5,000 children , completed more than 350,000 hours of service, engaged more than 5,000 citizens in service and graduated over 200 alumni.
